Making a Homemade Denim Purse
  • Making a homemade denim purse can be a delightful experience, provided that you’re in the company of a few good friends.

Bret emailed us the photo below, along with a nice letter from him and his pals. Some of the choice quotes from Bret’s letter:

“Once a week, the guys get together to talk shop, and make fantastic denim items from old pairs of blue jeans. Before we break out the yarn and get down to business, we enjoy pregaming with a few Whynattes.”

“While attaching the bamboo handles to the denim purse, Thomas was having a lot of trouble focusing on his quarter stitch. He was about to give up on the bamboo, and just use some ribbon. After drinking another Whynatte, his concentration level peaked, and he was able to finish off the purse, and a scarf, in a matter of minutes.”

“We make all kinds of things with old denim. Aaron has been working with beads, and denim, for years. He can knock out an embroidered denim vest in about 45 minutes. For those of your readers that are new to the denim game, I would recommend starting out with quilts and shirts.”

Hello, I'm one of the co-founders of Whynatte, and currently handle the marketing, branding, and business development. I also handle the mail room, the black market primate side-operation, and most of the shipping and receiving. A little of this, a little of that. The fact that you're actually reading this indicates that you've lent us your time, and have an interest in Whynatte. Thank you. It's the gazillion people who've supported us along the way that make the difference. See you around....

Somebody should make Tom a belt of denim. It might hold up his denim jeans a little better, instead of him just resting the waistband on Tom Jr and Company.

  • Someone needs to make an URN out of Denim.

I love the handlebar mustache.. rock that in Law school.

  • Tom, you really should spend a few minutes putting together a denim belt…I’ve seen your patchwork skills; It wouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes to sew a belt.
