Here at Whynatte, we’ll use any possible excuse to dial into a pop culture television show. I once spent 4 hours dialing in for that little fellow with the spikey hair on So You Think You Can Dance. What was his name? Keith? Clay? Oh well, I can’t remember.
Well, this time we don’t need an excuse.
Friend of Whynatte, Michael Johns, just auditioned on American Idol (San Diego), and picked himself up a ticket to go to Hollywood. No telling how far he’ll make it, but the kid can sing a sweeter song than a thick-billed Raven, and he just made it past the first round of auditions.
Said Simon, “I thought that was a very good audition Michael. You’re like a white soul singer.”
Said Randy, “100,000,000% Yes.”
Said Me, “I like eels.”Here is Michael Johns, rocking a Whynatte shirt, hanging out with a fellow pal in Australia (Michael’s Motherland):

Wasn’t his name Michael Lee on the show?
Nevermind, I have something mixed up.
His name is actually Bruce Svetlanika, but he shares a striking resemblance to Michael Lee Johns.
American idol is pretty cool, but you haven’t made it as a musical artist until youve been featured on AM1690.
The host of the afternoon show on AM1690 is a pretty big deal. Rumor has it that he posts on Whynatte from time to time. If only I could get a photo of him drinking a Whynatte on the site.
It’s likely…but all the more likely if whynatte pres would run a beta test on Gnu & Jackyl stuffed animal mascots

I’m actually related to him (great Uncle or something?)..it’s a long story and I’ve never met him!
Real name is/was Michael Lee. Veeery close relation to a famous mechanical minded guy, ‘Bill Lee’ of Perth, West Oz.
Considering I’ve never met him…I like his voice. Good luck to him!

Mike is a stand up guy, and he’ll probably be riding around in a one man personal autogyro by the time that you get around to meeting him. In other words, he’s going places.
Yeah, it’s true, Michael Lee is his given name. I suppose that he’s going by Michael Johns these days. We’ll just call him Lance, and get on with it.
