Clark didn’t realize that it was such a long stairway from the street up to Diana’s house. If he had known, he wouldn’t have left his bamboo flute in the car, but would have instead brought it along for the walk. Clark knows a pretty wide repertoire of flute songs, and it’s a great way to pass the time.
At least they brought their Whynatte shirts, so that they could pose for a quick photo:
