Help Bring Whynatte to Your Local Bar
  • While Atlanta is obviously the epicenter of Whynatte’s prevalence, there are a number of bars around the country that move the bejesus out of the Whynatte Latte. We have bars in Texas, NYC, Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina that are selling as much as our top accounts in Atlanta.

So how did this happen? Well, basically it happened because someone just like yourself (medium height, thick build, hairy chest, not as fast as me) wanted the ability to drink Whynattes at their local watering hole, so they took the initiative and made it happen.

We’d love to add some new accounts around the country, and we’d love your help making it happen. We’re always being asked, “is Whynatte available in _________” with the blank being the name of a city where we wish we had Whynatte available.

If you want to help us bring Whynatte to your local bar, here’s what you need to do:

    1) Speak with the general manager or owner of a bar that you frequent. Typically, these are the only people who have the ability to make a buying decision. Tell them how much you’d like to see Whynatte available at their bar, and ask if they’re open to giving it a try. Most bars are open to trying out new products, especially if its proven itself in another market, and they’ll be the first place to have it locally. Also, explain to them that this will help them make money (most business owners like money). If the answer is “yes” proceed to step (2).

    2) Contact us at either sales@whynatte.com, or call Andy Wessels at 404.579.5996. We’ll either give you all of the logistical details to pass along to the bar, or we’ll gladly call them ourselves and handle it. In the meantime, we’ll send you a few cans to try out with the bartenders so that they can get a feel for it.

    3) We’ll work out a generous deal for their first order, allowing them the opportunity to sample various Whynatte drinks with their regulars at nearly no cost to the bar. We’ve found that the best sales pitch involves us shutting our mouths and letting the latte do the talking.

    4) We sell cases of Whynatte to bars outside of Georgia at the same price as we do to the bars in Georgia. That even includes the cost of shipping the cases right to their front door. That’s right, the Mezzanine Lounge in Houston is paying the same price for a case as the bar down the street from our office.

    5) We have plenty of merchandising that we’re able to provide, including: table tents, recipe cards, bar mats, banners, posters, etc…If an account really starts moving Whynatte, we’ll even send them a fancy Whynatte cooler to put behind the bar. There is no cost associated with the merchandising.

    6) Once the bar goes through their first order of Whynatte, they can order directly from us. For instance, the Mezzanine Lounge in Houston simply tweets us when they need to reorder, we send out the product FedEx, and they keep a credit card on file with us.

And the rest is history. We will lavish many gifts upon you for helping us out, and if you’re able to build up a little base of bars that are carrying Whynatte, we’ll actually start to pay you cold hard cash. Regardless, there’s nothing cooler than walking into some random bar in some random city, and seeing that they carry Whynatte.

We appreciate your support, and look forward to working together. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at sales@whynatte.com.

    Thanks!

Hello, I'm one of the co-founders of Whynatte, and currently handle the marketing, branding, and business development. I also handle the mail room, the black market primate side-operation, and most of the shipping and receiving. A little of this, a little of that. The fact that you're actually reading this indicates that you've lent us your time, and have an interest in Whynatte. Thank you. It's the gazillion people who've supported us along the way that make the difference. See you around....

im bound and determined to get Whynatte into Canada specifically the west coast! this really helps. Thanks!

  • A few other helpful tips, based upon our years of dealing latte:

    1) When nobody in your city has any clue what Whynatte is, you’ll have much better luck getting it into your local dive bar than you will a club. Think about places that have the maximum interaction between the bartender and the customer – those are the best places for Whynatte. In a club, the music is loud, the bartenders are crazy busy, and the last thing they have time to do is recommend a new product.

    2) Bars take pride in being the first place to carry a new product (as they should). Especially one that’s proven itself in another market. Think about how cool it will be 5 years from now when Mezzanine Lounge can say that they were the first bar to carry it in Houston.

    3) The merchandising makes a huge difference, especially in a new bar in a new city. Being able to place a little card with some drink recipes on the table is huge.

    4) Try not to discuss Whynatte with the general manager or owner during prime lunch hours. They’ve got a million other things to worry about. The best time for coffee talk is probably around 2-4pm.

    5) Remember, you’re the customer. If a regular customer asks for the ability to buy a particular product, the smart business owner will make it happen.

  • 6) Whynatte mixes well with a lot of different spirits, and Whynatte can be a great way for a bar to sell a wide variety of liquors. This is a selling point.

    7) We have 5×7 bartender’s guide to Whynatte cards. Basically, a few key facts about the Whynatte, as well as 5 of our top recipes. We can give you these to give to the bartenders. Very helpful.

  • you should expand this to other types of establishments: bodegas, theatres, pharmacies, grocery stores, bowling alleys, snack bars, etc., etc. Maybe in the next newsletter, offer people $5 per account that actually re-orders and spread the word and you could basically turn all Whynatte fans into a marketing force. Who better to sell the product than those already in the Whynatte family. Could be huge.
