Okay, so the rumor’s true:  We gave the Whynatte can a thorough makeover, and we hope you like the new look.  While we’ve had a nice run with the old design, it was time to freshen things up, and take Whynatte’s look into the 27th century.

As you can see from the picture above, it’s still an aluminum can that acts as a means for storing and dispensing liquid. That’s to say that the essential features and function of the can remain unchanged. We also kept a handful of design cues from the original Whynatte can: the black and gold color scheme, the splash that pays homage to the original Whynatte cocktail, and the script logo (updated).  Not to mention that the latte itself is unchanged – it’s still the wonderfully delicious juice of the heavens that you’ve come to know and love.

The new cans arrive at the warehouse tomorrow, and will begin hitting the market in the coming weeks. Don’t be bashful, go ahead and snap a photo of the new can when you see it on the shelf, and post them to your social media page of choice.  That said, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the old cans, so don’t hesitate to continue enjoying them if you happen to see them around town; they’ll go excellent mixed with a few ounces of nostalgia.  It’s probably going to take us a month or so to transition all of the old to the new, so don’t get all worked up and start writing letters to your congressman if your favorite retailer doesn’t have the new ones on the shelf immediately.  Soon enough my friends, soon enough.

What else? Well, we also redesigned the 4-packs, and the cardboard cases that hold the cans.  In yam farming as in packaging design, continuity is key.  What’s more, we removed the word “energy” from all of the packaging, since the idea of a “coffee energy drink” seemed redundant.  Kind of like wearing a belt and suspenders at the same time.  We highlighted the fact that Whynatte’s low in sugar and only 100 calories per can, because those facts seemed to encourage praise from our loyal customers.  We brought the gold Whynatte “W” to the front and center, to make the can easily identifiable from across the store, or when snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef.

When you think of a “dirty bird,” you likely envision a blood soaked dingo-eating pterodactyl, not a delicious mix of Whynatte and Espresso Tequila.  Well, all that’s about to change, now that our friends at Tequila Avion have officially launched their Avion Espresso. Avion Espresso is made with real Italian Espresso, and unlike certain other coffee flavored tequilas, it’s not overly sweet, and actually tastes like real coffee and tequila. Mixed with Whynatte, it’s a rich blend of awesome.  I mean, we like cavities as much as the next guy, but not when it comes to our cocktails.

If you want to take this bird for a test drive, put on your fancy pants and follow this recipe:

Combine 1.5 oz Avion Espresso & 2 oz Whynatte Latte in a shaker over ice, shake with vigor, strain and serve as a shooter.

Also encouraged: Mix 1.5 oz Avion Espresso with 3 oz Whynatte Latte, and serve over ice as a cocktail.

You can find both Whynatte and Avion Espresso at numerous Atlanta package stores, and we’re starting to see Avion Espresso popping up at bars around the city as well.  If you live outside of Atlanta, or live in Atlanta and don’t like leaving the house, you can always order Whynatte by the case of 4-pack from our online store.

It’s no secret that we’re a fan of rooftop parties, but in case you were curious, we like them a lot. With that in mind, we’ve decided to throw a rooftop bash at Republic Social House on Saturday, May 18th. If you’ve ever been to one of our rooftop parties, then you know that we specialize in rooftop parties. Sure, we may have our weaknesses, but getting you twerked on top of a building is certainly not one of them. Neither is barehand wrestling a giant squid, but that’s a different post for a different time.

Everything you need to know is on the flyer above, but if you’re still scratching your head pondering what it all means, well then we recommend adopting a dog or taking up a new hobby like fly fishing. If that doesn’t work, then I’m afraid we can’t help you.

This Wednesday night (1/30) from 7-9, we’re throwing our hastily made New Years Resolutions off the roof of the Tribute Lofts. My resolution to not eat zebra meat didn’t even make it a month into 2013. We basically assembled a collection of the most decadent, delicious, and unhealthy menu items, and we’re going to wash it all down with Whynatte, Pinnacle Vodka, and Lipitor.

I suppose that you could call this a “happy hour” of sorts, but all of the pieces are in place for this to be so much more. Come, join us, and lets put off starting those Zumba classes for another week. This Thursday, if a night out on the town is what you’re looking for, I have something you might be interested in. It’s live music, it’s happening inside a building that serves alcohol, and Whynatte, and you’re going to have a really good time. There’s this little mom and pop music company in Atlanta called BMI, and I’ve always wanted to do some local shows with them around town. As fate would have it, I found out that BMI was throwing a show with my friend Dean’s new band Magnets and Ghosts, and an plan was hatched; I’d get Whynatte involved in the show.

Well friends, mission accomplished, Whynatte’s involved in the show, and Terminal West is going to be offering some pretty enticing drink specials. $4 Whippets and Fire in the Holes should keep you sauced throughout the evening, and I’d offer up my finest yak as collateral that you’ll hear some excellent live music. Plus, Red Hare Brewery will be on special as well, the rest of the lineup is dandy, and Terminal West is a great venue to see live shows at. I haven’t seen Magnets and Ghosts live yet, but I’ve already polished my proverbial menorah in anticipation.

Not to mention that this event received a coveted A+ ranking in this month’s Latte Digest. That’s just icing on the coffee cake.
